You know all those things you see on Pinterest or someone’s blog that you want to try, but just never get around to? Well, today I decided to actually try a few…
Ashley from The Shine Project posted a Les Mis-inspired braid tutorial that I really wanted to try. Clearly, I don’t have even half the hair she does (Some of us were blessed with such things I suppose. Unfortunately, I’m not one of them), BUT I still wanted to try it.
My mom, sister-in-law, Collette, and I were making a quick trip to Michael’s anyway, looking for some satin elastic to make hair ties. Alas, they didn’t have that, but we did find some vintage-inspired lace and tried a few different styles with it (including the one from Ashley’s tutorial).
This last one was something I saw on TV. It’s basically the simplest up-do ever. You basically just roll your hair into an elastic head band and clip some lace at the back. If you’d like a step-by-step tutorial, comment below, and I’ll post one later in the week.
What did you make today?

I’d love the tutorial! These look great. I’m like you, I don’t have a lot of hair so it helps to see the styles on someone with similar issues. Thanks!
Impressive and oh-so pretty, Allison!
Thanks, Cathy!
